Das Swiss Sepsis Bundle besteht aus den folgenden 6 Massnahmen:

 

1. Determine responsible clinician

  • Establish roles and responsibilities
  • Ensure sufficient senior support

 

2. Ensure IV access/Take bloods

  • IV access
  • Blood cultures (Adults: 2x2, as possible prior to antibiotics
  • Additional Bcx from all intravascular catheters
  • Lactate
  • Quantify organ function (Renal function, Liver function, blood count (consider glucose)

 

3. Give empirical (IV) antibiotics

  • Informed by differential diagnosis (Start smart)
  • Consider: Allergy status

 

4. Assess (ABC) and support organ function (IV fluids/O2 as necessary

  • Balanced crystaloids if hypotension (Adults: MAP<65mmHg), signs of poor perfusion, or lactate       
  • O2 according to hypoxemia (SpO2)
  • Escalate as deemed necessary

 

5. Determine Source Control

  • Line-removal
  • Surgical consult/Interventional radiology

 

6. Monitoring and reassessment

  • Define monitoring plan
